Welcome Penn Families!

Welcome Penn Families to Campus Express!

We are excited to welcome your student to campus! We know there is a lot to do ahead of arrival to campus, so we've curated a list of must-knows to help your student (and you!) as they prepare to join the Penn community.

The Must Knows

Addresses

For students living in on-campus housing, they will have two addresses: one for mail/packages and one for the street address. Read more about sending items to campus -- including during high-volume periods like move-in -- on the Residential Services website.

  • No monthly service charges on eligible accounts
  • One automatic courtesy refund for first overdraft fees
  • One free incoming wire transfer per statement period (domestic or international)
  • International banking services, including U.S. account setup and multilingual support (240+ languages)

Visit pnc.com/penn more information on banking with PNC.

* There is no requirement by the University that students, faculty, or staff bank at any particular financial institution; all members of the Penn community can choose any bank they wish. In exchange for the opportunity to promote its programs to the University community, PNC provides Penn with financial contributions that Penn uses to sustain student programs and other University initiatives. ©2024 The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. Dining Spotlight

When it comes to dining on campus, there’s something for everyone. Students can choose from six residential all-you-care-to-eat dining halls and eight retail cafés across campus. The Penn Dining team—made up of talented chefs, staff, and administrators—takes pride in serving high-quality, delicious meals that meet the needs of our community.

Want to learn more about locations, hours, menus and Penn Dining's philosophy? All that and more can be found on Penn Dining's website.

Housing Spotlight

The College Houses are vibrant, close-knit communities where undergraduates can feel at home while staying connected to the academic heartbeat of the University. They’re designed to support students both personally and academically, creating a space where it's easy to build friendships, find guidance, and grow into leadership roles. In addition to the great communities in each of our College Houses, our buildings also have operational amenities to support your residential experience, including:

  • An information desk with 24-hour security in the lobby
  • Electronic locks on the doors to your building, room, and bedroom
  • Laundry facilities included in your housing charge
  • Free Wi-Fi and cable TV access
  • Central heat and air conditioning

Renter's Insurance

Renter's Insurance helps protect you from the cost of replacing your personal belongings in the event of a covered incident. We encourage residents to review any existing coverage, e.g., through family homeowner policies. You may explore having a rental insurance rider added to an existing policy, or explore renter's insurance products through any reputable insurance company. More information can be found on Residential Services website.

Task List

When logging into Campus Express, a task list will populate for your student. These items -- including required and recommended tasks -- help make the arrival process to campus that much easier! Your student can easily share their list via email -- encourage them to send it to you so you can stay informed.
